Echelon Custom Homes was founded by Chris Schell, a California native with strong family roots in Sussex County, Delaware. After graduating at the top of his class from MIT in Mechanical Engineering, Chris went on to become a successful hedge fund manager. Shortly after attending Harvard Business School, Chris decided to make a drastic career change and pursue his lifelong passion for building homes. Chris and his identical twin brother Preston, also a Harvard Business School grad, formed Schell Brothers, now one of the fastest-growing construction companies in Delaware, building over 300 homes a year. Not long after getting Schell Brothers off its feet, Chris decided to pursue his true passion for high-end luxury homes and Echelon Custom Homes was born.
